Walkout Music: Higher Ground

Josh Koscheck is one of the biggest stars from the tv show The Ultimate Fighter. Koscheck made quite a few enemies from the show and is far from being a crowd favorite. A feud with fellow TUF 1 cast member Chris Leben is one of the most memorable feuds in TUF history. There was a genuine dislike for each other and after they had a problem at the house, they were forced to fight each other. Loser goes home and it turned out that Josh sent Leben home. Koscheck used his wrestling style to win that fight. During The Ultimate Fighter Josh was the rookie in the house. Koscheck was very raw to MMA and had to use his wrestling background which is what got him into the house.

Josh Koscheck attended Edinboro University of Pennsylvania on an academic scholarship. While all 4 years were very good, his best was his junior year in 2001 where he won all 42 wrestling matches and the NCAA division 1 championship in the 174lb weight class. In addition to being a four-time NCAA Division 1 All-American (placing 4th,3rd,1st and 2nd), Koscheck is also a three-time recipient of the PSAC Wrestler of the Year award, and earned the Eastern Wrestling League Achievement Award twice. Only 11 wrestlers have been awarded the PSAC Champion 4 times and Josh is one of them. Koscheck also went on to become an assistant wrestling coach at the University of Buffalo.

After his appearance on The Ultimate Fighter Koscheck went on to start his UFC career with back to back wins over Christopher Sanford and Pete Spratt. After dominating MMA vet Drew Fickett for most all of the fight he showed his inexperience by getting caught in a rear naked choke with about 30 seconds left and suffered his first defeat. Koscheck bounced back winning 5 straight fights including a win over rival Diego Sanchez to set up the biggest fight in his career. Georges St. Pierre was the top ranked welterweight and in the discussion for top pound for pound fighter in the world. Josh went into the fight and gave a very good effort but lost a decision to GSP, gaining allot of respect from many fans for his ability to last 3 rounds with the best in the division.

Following his loss Josh came back and showed a "newer" KOS by defeating Dustin Hazelett in a battle that took place standing and ended with some good ground and pound following a headkick from Koscheck. Josh's most recent fight was against Chris Lytle who has never been finished in 45 fights (has 2 tkos via cut). Lytle took an absolute beating and most fighters would've been knocked out by this performance but took everything Koscheck had to offer. It ended up being a lop-sided decision and one of the bloodiest fights in recent times. The blonde curly hair was now redish pink on the head of Josh, covered in the blood of Lytle.
