Roger Huerta has a life story that is so hard to believe you would think it was a movie. The amount of times Huerta was abandoned, taken from parents, moved from place to place just seems impossible. There is more to Roger's story as a child, but as an MMA star is how he became well known. Before making it to the UFC, Huerta was 19-1-1 with 1 no contest. In Huerta's only loss he sustained a dislocated jaw early in the match which was his 3rd contest that day. Roger was originally scheduled to make his UFC debut against veteran Hermes Franca but had to withdraw due to an injury. His actual UFC debut came against Jason Dent and he won by unanimous decision, also taking home fight-of-the-night honors. Roger went on to win his first 6 fights in the UFC before losing to Kenny Florian by unanimous decision in his most recent fight.

Roger also became one of the faces of MMA by gracing the cover of Sports Illustrated in May 2007. Also well known by his large tribal tattoo located on his left chest and shoulder. That tattoo was designed for Huerta and was reminiscent of the tattoos that decorated the bodies of the Maori warriors. He also has a tattoo on his right forearm that is the Alcoholics Anonymous 3rd step prayer.
