Chris Lytle started
training in 1998, saying that it was "something
to keep me active" He has held championships in the Hook N' Shoot,
Absolute Fighting Championship, and Cage
Rage World Welterweight Championship.
He was a contestant
on The Ultimate Fighter 4, where he defeated Pete Spratt
and Din Thomas before losing to Matt Serra
by split decision in The Ultimate Fighter 4 Finale. He lost to former
UFC Welterweight Champion Matt Hughes on March 3rd at UFC 68 in Columbus,
Ohio via unanimous decision.
Lytle is a well rounded
fighter with incredible durabilty. He is a solid play when favored.
Lytle rarely makes mistakes and usually overwhelms inferior opponents.
His only losses have been to highly rated fighters and he's been competitive
against all of them. Lytle is one of the few old school fighters who's
successfully transitioned to the "modern" style of MMA. Alhough he's
been around for years, he still improving and should not be taken lightly.
