Josh Koscheck is one of the best wrestlers ever to step into the octagon. He was a 4 time NCAA Division I All American and won the D-1 championship once at 174 lbs. Koscheck has an 9-1 MMA record (Sherdog record) with his only recorded loss coming to Drew Fickett. His most significant win is against Diego Sanchez, who was undefeated at the time and primed for a title shot. Josh also lost a decision to Diego Sanchez in the TUF 1 semifinals.

Koscheck can be a difficult fighter to bet on. He is well known and his odds are usually overpriced. But, his superior wrestling allows him to control the action which limits his opponents' opportunities for an upset. So, you don't get much value betting either way. He does not finish quickly enough yet, allowing some less talented fighters to hang around longer than he should.

Josh Koscheck is very talented yet somewhat untested. With his win over Sanchez he has reached the point where the level of competition will be far superior to what he's faced in the past. He has had huge success at every level of competition, so he probably steps up and meets the challenge. Improving his striking will be the key to his future MMA success.

Strengths: Wrestling, Physical Strength, Takedown defense

Weakness: Striking, Inexperience, Finishing
