Gina Carano is the daughter of an NFL quarterback, Gina was blessed with athletic skills. She lead her team to a high school basketball championship in Las Vegas Nevada. Gina kind of backed her way into the world of mixed martial arts. Her boyfriend, at the time, took her to the gym to "show off" his skills on the bags. The muay thai trainer came up to her and told her she was over weight and needed to work out. Carano began to work the bags and has since fallen in love with MMA.

Gina Carano was originally just a muay thai fighter. She assembled a record of 12-1-1 in her muay thai fights, where she trained at the famed Master Toddy Gym. After her muay thai career she shifted her focus on becoming an mma star, and is now training at Xtreme Couture in Las Vegas under the UFC heavyweight champion Randy "The Natural" Couture. Leiticia Pestova was her first opponent on June 10, 2006 where she won via KO in the first round. Tonya Evinger was her first career victory via submission (rear naked choke). EliteXC featured Gina Carano on their inaugural event as the co main event, along with stars like Frank Shamrock and Renzo Gracie.

Gina Carano is also the very well known "Crush" from the new version of American Gladiators. Crush was given to her because they viewed america having a crush on her. Blood and Bone is a movie that will release sometime in 2008 that Carano appears in as well as the very popular video game Command & Conquer: Red Alert 3, where Gina portrays Natasha.
